Smart Environmental is the third largest waste and recycling company in New Zealand, and the largest NZ privately owned waste and recycling company. We have branches in the North and South Island. We are100% locally owned and operated.
Smart Environmental proactively work close with our communities and intergrate local services to ensure we invest in the local economy. Our commitment goes beyond our day to day operations, we currently provide financial support for various trusts around the country, we also support the paper for trees scheme and provide sponsorship for many community inititiatives.
We have a dedicated team of locals whom provide commercial and council services within the Rotorua Lakes District and hope that we are able to provide environmental solutions to all our stakeholders

Meet our local management team
Roger Allsopp- Rotorua Area Manager
Roger’s career commenced as a qualified Civil Engineer in South Africa, in Consulting and Contracting roles. He set up his own business in property development/subdivisions and residential home construction. In this capacity he completed some 400 homes in 13 subdivisions. He also established and managed his own Real Estate agency. He also created a Project Management Consultancy to assist land owners to create their own developments and subdivisions.
Roger immigrated to New Zealand in 2010 and is now a New Zealand Citizen. He joined Lockwood Homes, in a dual role as Waikato Manager and National Sales Manager. This involved responsibility for managing and motivating the 25 franchise builders around New Zealand and working with Lockwood clients to ensure an exceptional experience throughout the building process.
Roger is a local based in Rotorua with his family.
Sylvia has a vast range of skills to support the business administration function of our local branch. Sylivia is also based in Rotorua.

Dave Fraser brings a wealth of operational and logistics expertise and has been involved in the recyling and waste industry for many years, a vast majority of this time with one of the largest waste businesses in New Zealand. Daves knowledge of collection methodologies and managing a diverse range of services will ensure we deliver, what we say.
